Check out Realistic Hyrule! [link]

I took a picture of the mountainous valley outside my house and thought it would do great as Termina, thus began the photoshop work.

The four regions had to be changed around because of the terrain of the photograph and how they would fit each of Termina's areas.

I left the Swamp to be behind the camera cuz I did not want to touch that, the Australian Outback is not a place to recreate a purple Death Mountain erupting a waterfall.

The Great Bay was fun as it had to force me to be creative in how I was going to make a coastline out of an area full of trees and grass. The end product involved a lot of erasing and cloning. I love cloning.

Snowhead was pretty easy as I just plunked a mountain there and it seemed to fit, cloned up a few more mountains and that was it.

The Stone Towers of Ikana Valley were just plain weird, as I had to make something that definately didn't exist. I still have no idea if the final look is acceptable or not.

The most difficult part was creating a Clocktown that both made sense and was from an appropriate time period. I settled on pictures of a town in Italy called Apricale [link], the buildings were perfect in creating a realistic sort of Zelda world, at least with Termina. I just selected bits and pieces of Apricale and arranged them into the Clocktown you see there in the distance. I opted to make it a bit larger than Majora's as it was a tourist town essentially.

Choosing a Clock Tower was hard, mostly because there didn't seem to be any pictures of clock towers in existence that was at the angle I wanted. I finally found one that was at a perfect angle and also looked pretty cool. If you look up the clock tower in Pakistan's town of Faisalabad you can have a better look at it [link] If you look closely you can also see Termina's clock on the tower.

The Moon. Ah, the Moon. I thought I wouldn't be able to find a realistic looking recreation but fellow Deviant Happnes had made an impressively realistic one: [link] So I took that picture, touched it up a bit and now there's a giant moon with a mean face in the sky.

I really enjoyed recreating a gamespace like Termina, hopefully I'll be inspired to make one for some other game.

For those interested here's a before-after to see what the place originally looked like: [link]

I think the problem with the stone tower is, they are too fare back to be that big
There are other things of course, but that's the part that really stands out to me
